New Header Image for the Phoenix Area Real Estate Blog

When I rolled out the Phoenix Area Real Estate Blog I didn’t have a Phoenix or Scottsdale photo that made sense for the header image, so I used a photo I had taken of the Grand Canyon as a placeholder. Two months later, the placeholder was still in place, and Friday night I decided this needed correcting. I took the new header image from the roof of my office. The photo looks southeast over the Loop 101 freeway, from Scottsdale toward Paradise Valley, Camelback Mountain, and Squaw Peak. It’s the same view I enjoy from my office, as I blog and work away.

For those curious, the photo was taken with a tripod mounted Canon 20D with 17-40L USM lens on a 30 second exposure.

I hope that those that visit the blog enjoy the image. In my opinion, views like this make living and working in North Scottsdale _almost_ worth it.

For grins, here’s an alternative photo that I strongly considered. This photo was taken from the backyard of a home in McDowell Mountain Ranch. Let me know if you think I made the wrong choice.

    Hey Steve,

I like the one you didn’t use. The way the cactus show and the sky plus the mountains provide for quite a storyline.

Thanks Shailesh. That’s a good point about the cactus. I’ll have to find a way to better encorporate one into an image.

I like them both Steve. But I think I’m with Shailesh… leaning toward the McDowell Mtn Ranch pic.

Thanks Jay. I’m going to be on the lookout for a spot where I can combine the mountain scene I’m looking for with a big saguaro (or several) poking through in a more obvious way.
