The Arizona Diamondbacks won the first game of the opening 5 game series in the National League Division Series over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night. Watching the game was a true pleasure, as the DBacks pitched a heck of a game. Memories of the great run in 2001 came flooding back.
As the game neared its conclusion, I had a thought, which I really wish I had had a few days ago:
“It would be great to have a wager with a Chicago Area Real Estate Agent over the outcome of the series.”
Why is it great ideas like this come to you after it’s too late? I mean, we’re up 1-0, it’s not exactly a fair bet at this point.
Just in case someone else had this idea, I poked around for a well deserved Chicago agent. Hmm, didn’t really find any that were talking the Cubs and real estate, although admittedly, I’ve never talked DBacks on my real estate blog either.
So the Chicago series gets a pass. I’m inclined to believe that the DBacks will win in 4 games. If that’s the case (or if they win in 3 or 5), then I’ll do my darndest to find someone from either Denver or Philadelphia that wants to accept a good natured wager. In the meantime, I need to figure out what would be an appropriate wager. If you’ve got ideas, I’d love to hear them.
Go DBacks!
