Dada released the song Dizz-KNEE-land in 1992 on their album Puzzle (I had to look that up in iTunes.). It was the only song people can usually remember from Dada…a true one hit wonder band. I’ve got the whole album, but Dizz-KNEE-land gets 2x the play that the entire album does.
I’m going to Disneyland for fall break with my wife and 2 girls. In fact, as you read this, I’m in the car driving there now. I’m also crying over yet another DBacks loss. And I’m wondering how I’m going to live up to my wager with Denver Steve while in Anaheim. Getting swept by the Rockies wasn’t in the plan.
Fall break is a strange thing in Scottsdale, and throughout the Phoenix area. Some school disctricts have shortened it to an early release on Friday or Thursday, while others have the entire week off. It can be a hassle for parents to find an answer with what to do with the kids for a week in October. Two years ago, the Scottsdale school district asked parents if they still wanted to have a fall break, or would they prefer to start school one week later. Parents overwhelming responded that they wanted to keep the full week break in October.
If you can get away, it’s a great time to visit the busier tourist attractions that you want to go to during spring break, but shy away from due to the crowds. This year, the best part of this trip will be that my youngest daughter is over 48″ tall. That means she’ll be able to ride every roller coaster they have in Disneyland, including the one she has been dreaming of riding the most: California Screamin’.
