My post, Opting out of Trulia Voices, was nominated by a kind soul for an Odysseus Medal yesterday. It didn’t win, but to whomever nominated me, I thank you tremendously. It’s the first time anything I’ve written has ever been nominated. The winner of the people’s choice award, written by Geno Petro was indeed my choice, even over my own. It was a truly entertaining post. It scares me in a way, as I have a client, also female, that’s a real estate attorney, that I must do my best not to offend during the course of our tenure. At least she’s a Mrs.
Today I spent the day with buyers from New York. Living, breathing buyers are such a rare thing I didn’t want to let them out of my sight. It may be a while before we see one again. At any rate, my apologies if it appeared the blog was neglected.
Also, I really have to thank Jonathan Dalton for doing a bit of my homework about the house in Gilbert for $199,000. This was on my buyer’s list to explore, so getting the scoop from him was a real time saver for me.
And finally, I’m a bit more tired now than a day of showing homes would necessarily suggest, because I had the most dubious displeasure of accidentally deleting every post from the MySQL database that underpins this blog. A MySQL database may be meaningless to many, but the end result was that every post was suddenly gone. Imagine my horror at realizing the grave error of my ways. I made that mistake at 8pm (ish) Sunday night. At 1am, I finally left the office, having mostly recovered from the cavalier mistake that led to this near fatal disaster. To Dave Smith, the post that I was working on for the lab is the primary tragedy in the loss. I’ll have to start it over tomorrow.

Always glad to help … lunch at Desert Ridge should cover it, me thinks.
Steve,
That was a great post you wrote and the subsequent opinions from Dalton and Thompson were just great!
@Jonathan, lunch at Desert Ridge on Thursday or Friday would work out well. Let me know if you are interested.
@Shailesh, thanks for noticing. Heather Barr mentioned you and she met a while back. I’m up for the same, if you want to get together.
Steve,
You can tell how buried I’ve been by just now getting to reading this post. And by now your post is up and live on the lab.
Isn’t self hosting your blog a blast!
