The North Phoenix Agent, Heather Barr, tagged me on my birthday. I’m not sure if that’s a present or not, but I’m game to play along. Accordingly, here are the rules: (1) list 7 things about yourself, (2) tag 7 people to do the meme on themselves including a link to their site.
- In High School I was a 4 year varsity football player, french horn player in the band, graduated 13th of 400 kids, but read just 1 book (The Red Badge of Courage).
- In college, I dropped out of the honor’s program, because I would be required to write book reports, about books I had read.
- I finally read a book after my Junior year of college, when I first worked for IBM in Dallas as a co-op student. Being completely broke, and having no TV, the cheapest form of entertainment I could come up with, was reading books.
- Today I read constantly, but given my younger transgressions, am not a fast reader by any stretch.
- I think BMW’s are the best automobiles on the planet, and have driven my last 2 on the Autobahn at 150 mph.
- Even though riding a bicycle has cost me 2 front teeth, a broken arm, a ruptured posterior cruciate ligament, and countless other minor injuries, I’m still an avid cyclist, riding 3+ days a week on both mountain and road.
- I have never gone sky diving or bungie jumping, but I would like to do both after my kids become independent.
And now I get to tag 7 other people: Artur Ciesielski, Paul Slaybaugh, Steve Scheer, Dave Smith, Sylvia Barry, Jeff Kempe, and Maureen Francis

Nice google alert I just got there Steve. 7 things & then to 7 people - and this is fun? You know just how active I am in the blogoshphere - it will be interesting to find 7. Mine will have to wait until tomorrow, I am off to go bungie jumping now. Um, I mean take my son to hockey practice. Oh, and I completely agree with you BMW statement - there is no comparison.

I love #6! Where do I get that ambition??! As my hips spread and my thighs apply for a zip code of their own, I could use some of that love for exercise.

Heather, taking just these words out of context, “As my hips spread and my thighs”, I’m surprised my spam filter didn’t throw this one into moderation. hehe.
But seriously, it’s never too late to find your passion. I didn’t find mountain biking until I was 33 years old. I consider it a hidden and mysterious secret of the cosmos that for some reason, mountain bikers want to keep to themselves, so that the perma-grin we get from riding is never erased by over-crowded trails.
I understand Steve Scheer is a mountain biker as well, riding the front range outside Denver quite regularly. I’ve not ridden there, but when I do, I’ll be giving him a call. Hopefully he won’t mind leading me around a bit.
