Over the last couple of months, I’ve been watching the desert turn greener and greener, as the grasses came out of the ground and the sages each sprang to life. Now, the wildflowers are in full bloom. This morning, with the kids out of school, I had a few extra minutes before coming into the office to get my good camera out and snap some extremely narrow depth of field shots of a bunch of the different wildflowers that are blooming in the desert around Phoenix right now. Initially, I gave my blogging camera a go at the flowers, but I wasn’t getting what I wanted, so these shots all come from my big old taking pictures of houses camera, but used in a way I never to get use, when taking photos of kitchens.
Curiously, after I had finished taking photos, just 1/4 mile away, I drove past the above landscaper doing the exact same thing. Ralph (his actual name) gave me permission to take his picture, as he posed for me. Nice guy, that Ralph.
I’ve got so many wildflower photos now, that I’ve decided that I’ll start a short wildflower series. Until I run out of interesting photos, each post, regardless of the subject, gets a flower or two. To kick off the series, here are my wife’s 2 favorite shots:
