I spent a significant chunk of my day today in the car listening to sports talk radio on KTAR, AM 620. The morning started with a meeting at Starbucks in North Scottsdale, then lunch at Desert Ridge in Phoenix, then 2 showings in Laveen, followed by a quick jaunt through Glendale to get a lease signed, before finally getting back to the office at 9pm. With that much time listening to the radio, I heard them report the news at least a half dozen times, and every time they ended with the same sound bite, “Due to budget constraints, valley freeways turn into toll roads at midnight tonight”.
Now, it’s been said before that if you read it on the internet, it must be true. Hopefully, I have you conditioned that if you are reading it here on my blog, it absolutely must be true. But certainly, if you hear it on the radio, mortgage ads aside, it absolutely must be true. Admittedly, I’m a tad tired, as business has been busy for me lately, so while I wrote April 1 on a dozen pages today, it being April Fools wasn’t quite sinking in. So as my last task of the day, before I finally leave the office and go home, I checked on this story that’s been nagging me all day. Sure enough…the joke was on me. Nice one KTAR. You won’t get me next year.
