By: For the first time since last November, I do not currently have an active rental listing. To be honest, this has happened at a perfect time, as I have several weekend trips planned, and now I don’t have to schedule coverage. It has also given some added free time, which I have used to lay the groundwork for a big announcement I have ready for tomorrow morning.
Stealing some of my own thunder, you may be asking, “What’s so important about tomorrow morning, and why not just announce it now?” Tomorrow morning will be the third monthly meeting of the Arizona Real Estate Blogging Network, and as a contributor to the Network, I will be presenting. My topic is Wordpress.org versus Wordpress.com. Specifically, attendees will watch me create a Wordpress.com blog and then a brand new blog LIVE during the workshop. Those in attendance will see me start from a brand new domain, to a fully functional blog (twice!) in just 40 minutes, and be able to see the differences side-by-side that both blogging mediums offer.
Tomorrow’s announcement will thus be that I’ll reveal the new blog’s domain, which will live on well after the meet-up is over, and talk a bit about the custom theme it uses as well as the purpose of the blog.

Jay, it must be the late hours you are putting in, affecting your math skills.
I’ll definitely share the news with you tomorrow at the session. FYI, I think I get to listen in on your session for round 2, as they’ve scheduled all of the folks for my session in round 1.

I recently set up a couple of wordpress.com blogs and would be interested in short summary of your presentation. I was considering setting up wordpress.org blog but went with .com blog. Is there any difference in SEO benefit?

@Kenneth - I had hoped to do a screencast recording of the presentation, so I could repost it on AZREBN, but I was limited to 15 minutes of recording time, and it cut off at an inopportune spot. Instead, I will be posting a summary on AZREBN within a few days, as my first post on that site. As well, I will need to research a better screencast type recording solution. Our blogging network has plans to get together monthly, and if we can record these sessions via screencast with voice over, I can see how extremely useful our sessions will be.
Steve - I heard great reviews on you presentation this morning! Thank you for sharing it! Unfortunately for me that gets to organizes didn’t get to sit still long enough. I really needed this class today, I could save myself a lot of time. Sorry your screencast recording didn’t work. Perhaps you can fiddle around with what I use, Camtasia dot com… Thanks again for a great job, next time on the online presentation!
Steve, thanks for update, looking forward to presentation. I’ve been doing some research online and there are several different stratgies I’m considering for new blogs, one being integrating wordpress.org into one of my sites. Not sure what path to take at this point. Your thoughts on blog options will definetely shed some light on strategy…
